  2. Mar 07 update: Finally finished my Marlin paint It's based on US Customs dept interceptor boats, and repaints most of the exterior and interior of the boat. Use it to chase down suspect GTFO deliveries, or as an inspection vessel out on the seas, or just as a sneaky disguise Available on MP here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Marlin-Paint-Applier-Customs/16818530 As usual, a demo is available at my main store in Bay City: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bay City - Truro/202/139/25

  4. Feb 23 Update: Here's my latest release, a new arctic-camo paint scheme for the Rubber Bunny Halob (my personal favorite vehicle in SL). Saw a few pictures on the internet of a Hivus-10 hovercraft used in Russia and decided to try and loosely replicate it. As with all my paints, it's a complete re-texture of the exterior and interior, as well as the accessories. Available on MP here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Halob-Paint-Applier-Polar/16716067
  5. They are useful that's for sure, but to add to what Anna said, they are also quite high on LI, especially if you're only on a smallish parcel. I made my own one to cut down on the prim count a little, also so i cold maximize the size on my less-than-square shaped parcel.
  6. YOUR SL Account name: Eowyn Southmoor Vehicle creator SL Display name: N/A Broken VAPI?: No Name of vehicle: N/A Additional comments: I'd like to suggest the addition of 3 generic Vapi codes as listed below: GTFO!Air01 : for Aircraft, Seaplanes, Helicopters. GTFO!Sea01 : for motor or sail boats, submarines etc GTFO!Road01 : for cars, trucks, tanks etc Why? Firstly, there is a huge range of vehicles out there in SL, all of varying quality and popularity, and as such it's likely that some of us current users (or future users) might have at least one vehicle in their inventory that is somewhat capable of being used for GTFO, but currently has no Vapi. However, in my opinion, expecting the GTFO team to add a unique Vapi for every single mod vehicle that might be usable for GTFO is, I think, a little bit unreasonable, being both time consuming, plus (I assume) filling the database with a lot of codes for vehicles that might only rarely ever get used. Secondly, as we have seen, when builders make new vehicles for GTFO, there is often some delay before a vapi code is released for them. So, considering there is already a generic Train vapi in the system which allows any user to grab a free train and start enjoying GTFO, I believe adding the above 3 extra generic codes would be of great benefit. Obviously the freight capacity would be quite limited, I'd say no more than 10 packages for any of these codes (up to discussion), so the likelihood of someone using them to cheat the system would be minimal, plus I feel that most of us play GTFO for the fun rather than trying to specifically make the most G$ or earn the most xp. These codes would also allow newly released vehicles to be used for GTFO immediately, giving the GTFO team a chance to look at the vehicle and determine its freight capacity without being rushed. I personally think that, over time, it would also save the team from implementing a large amount of codes that are likely only to used by 2 or 3 people at most. I personally probably have around 15 GTFO capable vehicles that don;t have a Vapi code, but I know that in reality, I might be the only person to use some of these vehicles, which is why I've never requested them to be added. Many of us have inventories full of vehicles, so it's likely I'm not the only one in this situation. Thoughts?
  7. Hi! Thanks to the GTFO team for setting up this forum for us painters. Anyway, as the title suggests, I paint vehicles in SL, offering a small but ever-expanding range of paints for some of the more unique vehicles you can buy. Currently I make paints for 3 vehicles - The Rubber Bunny Halob hovercraft, the Rubber Bunny Stolly amphibious truck, and the Lusch Scout Jeep. I am about to release my first paint for the Rubber Bunny Marlin Catamaran too. I can also paint other brands too like AvA, Amok, Piaggio etc , but I tend to avoid brands like Dani and Bandit - simply because there is already so many good painters out there for these makers. I also do custom work when I have time, and more than appreciate suggestions for paint schemes. My paint schemes could be described as fairly simple, not too elaborate, but with a focus on attention to details. I try and improve the standard textures wherever I can, and I also tend to repaint the entire vehicle including the interior where possible. My main store is located in western Bay City HERE , just west of the Hairy Hippo Fun land. Currently it has scaled-down displays of most of my paints and a Casper vendor on site. It has roadside access, and there's a hang-glider rezzer on the roof if you feel like flying round Bay City. I also have another Vendor and small display shop set up at Janie's Landing Airport in North Eastern Satori, located HERE . My paints are also available from my GTFO hub along Route 1 road in Hetrocera Atoll, in the Sagittata region. Finally, all my paints can be purchased via the marketplace HERE . In this topic I will post pictures of new releases and updates, but feel free to post here if you have any questions or suggestions
  8. I ended up making my own - the normal one most use didn't fit well on my small parcel and was basically unreadable when shrunk down in size.
  9. Seems to be a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. When people (like myself) didn't use those sky signs, all we heard was complaints that out hubs weren't visible on the SL map In the end it doesn't make much difference now, because most people use a lot of mesh in their builds, and the SL map doesn't show mesh properly anyway, it just shows a lot of odd-shaped blobs
  10. It all works through the HUD/game system, so you don't need to do anything to the actual location of the hub. Of course, to make it easier for people to find, rezzing a GTFO logo or sign help, as does one of those big GTFo sky-signs, if you can fit one in.
  11. Pretty much all of the S&W helo's are compatible for GTFO. The small ones - Bell 427, MD500 etc all use the one vapi code !TIGCOPTER but can't carry much. However, both the S&W Kamov and NH-90c are also usable for GTFO and have much larger freight capacity.
  12. Not for one moment did I ever suggest that. I asked about this issue simply because I've yet to encounter the same scenario as others have, even though regularly use both the Otter and the An2, in both cases always with floats. From your reply, it would seem to indicate that it's a much bigger problem perhaps on Sansara and Hetrocera? , which admittedly are areas I generally avoid for flying, preferring to use the roads and waterways there instead. I assume there would be some kind of conflict if 2 separate Vapi prims were placed in one vehicle?
  13. I think I am still missing this problem, or maybe it's where I usually deliver, because I don't see how these vehicles being restricted in any way. Can you provide examples (airports etc) where something like the Twin Otter can't deliver and it should be able to? I'm assuming that the majority of airports in SL using GTFO have seaplane delivery enabled, even if it might not be possible to land on water on the sim... but not sure, like I said I've not run into this issue. Definitely Hovercrafts seem to be an issue, where road-hubs won't show up as a delivery location, unless there's also water in the sim. Perhaps the way round this is simply for ALL road hubs to include hovercrafts, and ALL airports to include seaplanes. The vast majority of seaplanes have wheels anyway, the only exceptions i can think of are AVA's An-2 and THI's Float JU-52. Are there more?
